While other kids were out playing with friends at recess, lunch and after school, I could usually be found in the kindergarten classroom assisting the teachers, in the office answering phones and greeting parents, or at a neighbor’s home helping with the smaller kids.  Growing up, it was always my dream to become a teacher. From playing pretend in Kindergarten to coaching CanSkate Programs, babysitting, and volunteering; it was clear I was destined to make that dream come true.
While working towards an undergrad in French and Linguistics at YorkU in Toronto, I decided to move to sunny Arizona and went on to complete my B.S in Elementary Education from NAU.
I have experience teaching in French Immersion elementary schools, assisting in self contained and special education classrooms, running my own Art Education TAB program, and tutoring K-8 in French, English and math. I have worked with all ages, from Pre-K through 8th grade, and have truly found joy working with them all!
I eventually went back to Toronto and taught in French Immersion elementary schools and worked summers at Camp Green Acres as the Director and Programmer for the “Bunnies” (AKA Preschool Unit). When I returned to Phoenix, I began teaching again in an elementary classroom.
After having my daughter I wanted to be with her more, so I decided to begin teaching part time while working towards a new career in Real Estate. When the Pandemic hit, I decided to leave my teaching position and focus more on my Real Estate business. After 2 years away from teaching, my heart ached to get back into the classroom. I had been co-oping and subbing at the EEC, and  I knew very quickly that I wanted to be a part of the EEC team! The play based and inquiry based learning and instruction that centered around the students was perfectly aligned with my own philosophy of early childhood education and the community and staff felt like home!
