Programs

The Hummingbirds play-based preschool program for children turning 3 by September 1st. Rooted in the Reggio Emilia inspired approach, this class follows the children’s natural curiosity — letting their interests and questions shape what they explore and discover each day.

Children engage with concepts like colors, shapes, patterns, science, and pre-literacy skills through hands-on, active play in both indoor centers and outdoor spaces. Art and creative experiences are process-oriented; children express themselves freely through playdough, paint, and open-ended materials without a model to follow. Conflict resolution skills are modeled and practiced daily, and children learn to name their feelings, take turns, negotiate, and build friendships; all while playing and growing alongside their peers.

The students in this class have open center time, multiple outdoor play times, circle time with songs and stories as well as family style snack daily. The Hummingbird class has a child to teacher ratio of 1:9 and 2-3 cooping parents each day offering an intimate, community-centered experience that families throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley have trusted for generations.

Class Details:

• Hummingbirds class meets from 9:00-12:00

• 3 days a week Monday/Wednesday/Friday

• 'Lunch Bunch' available 12:00-1:00

• 'Stay & Play' extended day available from 1:00-3:00

• 2 Professional Early Educators; Child/Staff Ratio 1:9

• Weekly music is offered as part of the curriculum
