Program

Parent & Me

The Parent & Me class gently introduces children to routines, social connections, and a sense of belonging. Parents gain insight into their child's early development while participating in meaningful play. A new program for Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley families. It's the perfect first step into our coop preschool.

Our Parent & Me class is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which sees every child as capable, curious, and full of potential. Children learn through hands-on exploration, repetition, and meaningful interactions with people and materials. Rather than structured lessons, we provide open-ended materials and experiences that allow children to explore, create, and discover at their own pace.

This shared parent-child experience supports both the child's growth and the parent's confidence in nurturing curiosity, independence, and meaningful play. â€‹

Children in the class may:

  • Explore materials at their own pace

  • Repeat actions to build understanding

  • Observe and interact with other children

  • Begin to develop comfort in a group setting

  • Optional outdoor play for additional movement and exploration

Parents in the class benefit from:

  • Connecting with other parents and building a supportive community

  • Learning how to set up a successful play environment at home

  • Observing and working alongside an experienced teacher who provides guidance on early childhood development and play-based learning

Why Parent & Me?
Why Parent & Me, Why Now, Why EEC?

The earliest years are when connection, curiosity, and confidence are built. In our Parent & Me class, families slow down, learn together, and grow- right from the start.

What your toddler is really learning

That fascinating, repetitive play - filling and dumping, stacking and knocking down, rolling a ball back and forth again and again - isn't just passing the time. It's how toddlers experiment with cause and effect, build language and motor skills, and develop the confidence that comes from mastering something new. At EEC, we follow your child's lead, meeting their curiosity instead of redirecting it.

A typical class

Families settle in and explore an environment thoughtfully set up to support sensory, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional growth. Teachers observe, guide, and share developmental insight in the moment, with group moments — songs, movement, stories — woven in for connection. Every class closes with a simple gathering before heading home.

"Expect movement, mess, and magic — that's the point. There's no right way to show up — just come as you are."
